I am a Certified Integrative Body Psychotherapy practitioner. I provide counselling services that integrate mind, body, emotions and spirit. I specialize in working with people struggling with anxiety, depression, addictions, abuse, trauma, co-dependency, and self-esteem.
I believe that talk therapy has limited success in the treatment of psychological pain and you need to deal with the whole person integrating mind, body, emotions and spirit to bring about lasting change.
People that come to see me have already been to therapy and are looking for something different.
They have told me that they understand their emotional patterns and why they do what they do, but feel unable to change these patterns or maintain their changes in the long term. Studies in somatic psychology have shown that patients maintain their changes over the long term.
I have worked as a therapist for the past 17 years and have been a mind/body practitioner for 10 years. I spent many years myself seeing different therapists who used different approaches to talk therapy such as CBT, solution focused, narrative, etc. While these approaches gave me great insight, I was unable to stop myself from repeating harmful emotional patterns. It wasn’t until I found a therapist who incorporated the mind and body that I was finally able to release these patterns and find true transformation.
